Avatar Live Terms of Use

Effective date: October 9, 2026

These Terms set out the conditions for using Avatar Live and Curious Bobby - Avatar Exporter (together, the "Software") provided by Curious Bobby Co. (the "Company"). By installing, activating or using the Software, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Definitions)

  1. "License" means the non-exclusive right to use the Software in accordance with these Terms.
  2. "Purchaser" means a person who has purchased the Software on BOOTH, or who has lawfully received a code issued by the Company.
  3. "User Files" means the .vavatar and .vprop files that a user creates with Avatar Exporter, and the videos and images created with the Software.

Article 2 (License and Scope of Use)

  1. The Company grants the Purchaser a non-transferable, non-exclusive License.
  2. One License may be used by one person on one PC.
  3. The Basic edition is intended for personal and private use (including private Discord sharing with friends).
  4. For public or commercial use, such as streaming (live streaming), publishing or uploading videos, commissioned work or revenue-generating activities, please use the Pro edition.
  5. Trial and promotional codes may be used within the period and under the conditions specified by the Company.

Article 3 (Moving to Another PC)

  1. The Purchaser may move the License to another PC by themselves once.
  2. After the move, the License can no longer be used on the previous PC.
  3. Any further move will be considered through an inquiry only where there are unavoidable circumstances, and may be difficult depending on the situation. Please choose carefully the PC on which you first activate the License.

Article 4 (Matters to Observe When Using the Software)

The following uses are not permitted.

  1. Redistributing, selling, renting, transferring or sharing the Software or the License (including codes)
  2. Decompiling, reverse engineering or modifying the Software, or creating derivative works of it
  3. Circumventing protective measures such as license checks, feature restrictions or watermarks, or distributing methods for doing so
  4. Altering the installation files, or injecting other programs
  5. Public or commercial use of the Basic edition
  6. Using avatars or content that infringe the rights of others, or any use contrary to laws or regulations

Article 5 (User Files and Third-Party Content)

  1. The rights to User Files belong to the user. The Company does not collect User Files.
  2. The rights to avatars, outfits, textures, shaders and other content included in User Files belong to their respective rights holders, and the user is required to comply with their terms of use.
  3. The Company is not responsible for content that a user has used without the necessary rights.

Article 6 (Independence)

The Software has been developed independently by the Company and does not include or distribute the VRChat SDK or third-party avatar creation tools such as NDMF, Modular Avatar or VRCFury. The Software is not affiliated with or endorsed by VRChat Inc. or the developers of any of these tools. Open source components included in the Software are subject to their respective licenses.

Article 7 (Online Verification)

  1. The Software communicates with the Company's servers for activation and license verification, and an internet connection is required for this purpose.
  2. While the license cannot be verified, some features may be restricted.
  3. The use of a License that is contrary to these Terms, or of a License from a cancelled order, may be restricted.

Article 8 (Updates and Support)

  1. The Company may provide updates, and these Terms also apply to updates.
  2. Features may be changed or discontinued for the purpose of improvement.
  3. Support is provided to a reasonable extent through the contact channels listed in Seller Information.

Article 9 (Experimental Features)

Features marked "experimental" are features that are expected to work properly but have not yet been tested with every device and app in the developer's environment.

Article 10 (Warranty)

  1. The Software is provided "as is." The Company does not warrant that the Software will work on every PC, avatar, shader or third-party program.
  2. Before purchasing, please check the requirements in Getting started and the supported features.

Article 11 (Scope of Liability)

  1. The Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages (such as loss of data, interruption of streams or loss of business) arising from the use of or inability to use the Software.
  2. Even where the Company is found liable, the extent of that liability shall not exceed the amount actually paid for the License concerned.
  3. The above does not apply to damages caused by the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Article 12 (Refunds and Personal Information)

Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy, and personal information by the Privacy Policy.

Article 13 (Changes to These Terms)

The Company may change these Terms when necessary. When it does so, it will announce the effective date and the details of the change on this site in advance.

Article 14 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive agreed jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute relating to the Software.


Supplementary provision: These Terms take effect on October 9, 2026.
